UpTo Mainstreet and Services to the Street

Last week, Pittsburgh Tall was proud to host UpTo Mainstreet Allentown – a program providing digital media and marketing services to local businesses and home entrepreneurs.

UpTo Mainstreet was created and managed by UpTo Know Good, an organization designed to provide accessible services to small businesses by occupying vacant storefronts in transitioning communities. During the week, UpTo Mainstreet occupied 827 E. Warrington Ave. and delivered services to 10 Hilltop-based businesses. Staffing the team for UpTo Mainstreet were independent creative professionals from Work Hard Pittsburgh and Cube Creative Space.

At the end of the week-long event, UpTo and Work Hard Pittsburgh hosted a finale to showcase the work that was completed for the participating businesses. The finale also highlighted the ongoing support for Allentown businesses from New Sun Rising, Kiva Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Tall.

Included in these supportive partnerships is a new small business incubator in the Hilltop that is hosted by New Sun Rising and will provide market research, business consulting, planning, and funding to the neighborhood. Kiva Pittsburgh, in addition to its low interest loans for small businesses, also elaborated on their November workshop: Crowd-Funding for Small Businesses.

The programs presented at the finale are in tandem with Pittsburgh Tall’s Services to the Street. This program leverages the talented freelance professionals from Work Hard Pittsburgh to extend $2,000 to $5,000 worth of free services to a select number of businesses for one year. The services provided include: brand and identity development, digital marketing, business consulting and training, media and outreach, and website development.

All Allentown businesses are encouraged to apply either by picking up an application at Work Hard Pittsburgh, 744 E. Warrington Ave., or visiting our website at workhardpgh.com/services-to-the-street-pittsburgh-tall/.
